YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 OUR AIM:   The SVGRUFC seeks to promote youth rugby as an organised, competitive national sport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, irrespective of race or creed.

Reaching it's one year anniversary, youth rugby in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has flourished at an unexpected rate.  Players from all over the islands have began to participate in weekly practices, and in national and international tournaments.  A system has been designed to create an inter-island league with the hopes of tapping into the true athletic talent of the Vincentian youth.  

In addition, a recent coaching clinic held by regional director Mark Hewitt, certified ten (10) local sports masters to help bring about greater levels of competition within St. Vincent. 

Currently, youth development officer Isaak Egge, in conjunction with president John Townend and secretary Jackie DeFreitas, are making great efforts to bring about the second annual West Indies Under-16 Tournament to be held in St. Vincent on August 25th and 26th, 2001. 

The youth development position will be vacant come September, 2001.  Anyone interested in assisting in this role should contact Isaak Egge.
